Please note: Applicants will need to complete their applications once they start: you will not be able to save and return to your application. Consider writing your statement of purpose beforehand and copying and pasting into application when ready.

Statement of Purpose: Provide a brief summary of your career goals, your interests in engineering and/or computer science, and why you would like to participate in the 2023 Privacy and IoT Research Exploration Workshop at UCI. How will this program help you in achieving your educational/career goals? Please limit your essay to 500 words or less.

Format: The application will ask general demographic questions for reporting purposes and ask for your to submit the above statement of purpose. If you are less than 18 years old, your application will need to be virtually signed by a parent/guardian (within application).

Program Requirements:

  • Be an undergraduate student at a 2-year institution (community college) with plans to return in Fall 2023. We will also accept applications from applicants who will enroll in their first CC semester in Fall 2023 (graduating HS seniors). Priority will be given to CC students, however we will consider applications from students at 4-yrs (UCI, USC, etc.).
  • Be available for the duration of the entire program (June 20- June 30, M-F, 9am-3pm @ UCI campus).
  • Thirst for knowledge, no prior CS experience needed.
  • Submit statement of purpose of 500 words or less in online application.
  • Upload unofficial transcript in application form (PDF only).
  • Students from underrepresented populations in CS, in particular, are encouraged to apply (e.g., women, ethnic or racial minority groups, low socioeconomic status, or persons with disabilities)
