Annual Symposia
Overview
The ProperData annual symposia brings together faculty, graduate students, and scientists across our four main institutions: UC Irvine, UC Davis, the University of Southern California, and Northeastern University. Our members come together for a few days of in-person team building, collaboration, discussion, and exchange of ideas. We often invite members of our advisory board, industry leaders, and government and policy stakeholders to engage with our members through panel discussions and keynote talks. Members update each other on current research projects through PI highlights, lightning talks, and poster sessions. Annual goals and future directions are discussed throughout the event and in brainstorming sessions.
As needed, symposia are also used to host the National Science Foundation for site visits.

2024 Annual Symposium October 27-29, 2024 (UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge)
ProperData hosted our fourth Annual Symposium at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge.
2023 Annual Symposium September 18-19, 2023 (Northeastern University)
ProperData hosted our third Annual Symposium at Northeastern University. The Symposium brought together ProperData faculty, students, and invited guests from the industry and policy sectors.
2022 Annual Symposium December 1-2, 2022 (UC Irvine)
ProperData hosted it’s second Annual Symposium in December 2022, at our UC Irvine campus. The Symposium brought together ProperData faculty, students, and invited guests from the industry and policy sectors and was combined with an NSF Site Visit.
2021 Annual Symposium November 4-5, 2021 (UC Irvine)
The first ProperData Annual Symposium was hosted in-person at UC Irvine, with options for remote participation. The Symposium brought together ProperData faculty, students, advisors as well as invited speakers from the industry and policy sectors.
