What: UCI-UCLA Samueli Engineering: 1st Privacy Workshop
When: Monday, June 17, 2024 | 9am – 5pm
Where: Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB) 1200, at UC Irvine
Why: Funded by a Samueli donation, to further strengthen the ties between the two UCLA and UCI Samueli Schools of Engineering, foster research collaboration between the two schools, and lead to joint proposals. This one-day workshop focuses on the topic of Privacy and invites engineering faculty, as well as privacy policy and law experts from both UCI and UCLA, to attend. The program will consist of faculty presentations, student posters and breakout/brainstorming sessions. The goal is to identify teams with common interests, facilitate collaborations, and pursue funding opportunities. A second, followup, workshop may be be held in Fall 2024.

Participation is by invitation only. Travel expenses and accommodations will be covered. For faculty who have received invitations, please RSVP by March 29, if possible.

Posters
Graduate Students and Postdocs are strongly encouraged to present a poster at this event. If you would like your poster to be printed by the UCI team please follow the instructions and through the upload form linked below.
Printing Deadline
Poster due(for printing at UCI): Monday, June 10th by 5pm. Otherwise print on your own and bring poster with you on Monday, June 17th.
Format Details
- Please use either a 24″ x 36″ (portrait) or 36″ x 24″ (landscape) for your poster dimensions (size).
- Upload a PDF of your FINAL version.
- Make sure to follow general poster guidelines for appealing and easy to read posters. Some helpful poster guidelines are available at the UCLA Library, and UCI ImageWorks printing lab.
Note: Ensure you upload the final version of your poster; only a minimal review for correct sizing will be completed before sending to printer.
Travel Information
Symposium Location
The workshop will take place at UC Irvine’s Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building, (ISEB), 1200 Colloquium. ISEB is Building 419 in quadrant F-5 on the campus map.

Parking for the Symposium
Please park in Lot 16 or 16H for this event. Guests can purchase a one day $15 general permit (orone day $20 AR reserved) at the permit dispenser located at the entrance of Lot 16 (on Michael Drake Dr). Lots 16 & 16H are in quadrant G4 on the campus map.
Important: Guests should park ingeneral unmarked spotor AR marked spots (with an AR pass). Please be aware of all posted parking signs and permit requirements in lots.
