Efi Foufoula-Georgiou and the UCI Office of Access and Inclusion (OAI) hosted the National Academy of Engineering’s EngineeringGirl Ambassadors at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering (SSoE) on Friday May 6, 2022.
The EngineeringGirl high school ambassadors visited the SSoE to learn about the engineering programs available at UCI and to expand their knowledge of careers and education within the fields of engineering. The event highlighted amazing engineering women faculty leading important research projects in the SSoE , including Professor Naomi Chesler, leading the Cardiovascular Innovation and Research Center (CIRC), and Professor Michelle Digman, leading innovative work in cell and cancer research in the Digman lab.
Our very own PI Athina Markopoulou, shared her work in the fields of network security and privacy and highlighted key on going projects in our ProperData Frontier.
ProperData and our student advisee group, UCI WiCyS, were glad to participate in this event to continue our efforts in broadening the participation of women in the fields of privacy and security.
