Team members received Google’s exploreCSR award in 2020 for “aid higher education efforts to support students from historically marginalized groups to pursue graduate studies and research careers in computing”.
The project builds on outreach activities organized by of UCI’s Office of Access and Inclusion and Sharnnia Artis, as well as on research carried by the SATC Frontier, in order to engage and recruit undergraduate women in CS research, especially on topics related to security and privacy.
As part of these efforts, we hosted a Research Exploration Workshop on IoT and Privacy, in May 2021 for undergraduate students, especially women and underrepresented groups. The workshop was co-sponsored by Google’s signature exploreCSR program and manned by ProperData faculty and graduate students across all our institutions. Read more.
